September News – Mindfulness In Nature

How is it possible that September is already here? This summer has gone by far quicker than I would have liked. However, looking back over the past few months, we have really accomplished much. April was our inaugural Earth Day, Mind-Body-Spirit festival which was a huge success! There were many who said they didn’t realize there were so many like minded people in our area. It truly was a celebration of connection. (Mark your calendars for next years festival Saturday June 24th at Potawatomi Park.) Conscious Michiana participated at the Cosmic Aphrodite Festival at the Cosmic Connection Center in July. Also in July, we received our tax exempt status allowing us to expand our reach for donations and grants. In August, we were honored to host the first “Zen Zone” at Art Beat, which had a lot of great feedback from the community. Over the past couple months we have been working hard to create a special spot in the woods for our “Healers Hub” for [y]art? which is this Sunday 9/4. Over the summer I had the opportunity to attend several wonderful classes, workshops, and events lead by some amazing practitioners. Ecstatic Dance, Cacao Ceremonies, Heard Meditations, Shamanic Retreats, and Qigong. If you want to know more about these events, check out our event directory.

Local Pulse – Recently, we sent a call out for content creators. As a result, we now have a wonderful weekly article on “Mindfulness in Nature,” by Heather Barron. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do. We continue to look for locals who want to share their wisdom and experience. Topics can include information on a specific modality, or on stress reduction. intentional living, environment, benefits of yoga, tai chi, qigong, outdoor living, meditation, ect. If you have written, video, or audio content to share, please send to info@consiciousmichiana.com for review.

Upcoming we are excited to be a part of the Michiana Veg Fest Sunday October 23th at the Century Center. This free event is a fabulous way to learn more about plant based living. There will be classes, demonstrations, food, and vendors. We hope to see you there! If you are a practitioner interested in either a booth or want to teach a class, be sure to go to their website before September 15th for early bird rates. Also, be sure to tell them we sent you, as they will group us together.

Scholarships – As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, our goal is to support the growth of our Mind-Body-Spirit community. One of the ways we do this is by offering scholarships to those who need it most. Now as part of our giving options we have a way for the community to donate funds towards classes and workshops. This can help those who want to attend but may not have the resources. Please donate and help spread the word. Click here to donate.

Thank you for spreading the word about Conscious Michiana and letting your friends and family know about this local resource in our community. If you are at [y]art? on Sunday or Veg Fest next month, please be sure to stop by and say hello.
